Anonymous / confidential birth

Safety for mother and child

In the case of an anonymous birth, the delivery takes place with medical care, but without personal information. The aim is to prevent the emergency in which the child and / or mother are in life-threatening danger due to an emergency or conflict situation of the mother due to the impending birth.

In order not to endanger the lives of mother and child, the Schwarzwald-Baar-Klinikum, in consultation with the registry office and youth welfare office, decided to allow an anonymous birth if the birth is imminent. In this special situation, the well-being of mother and child is also the top priority from a legal point of view. A flow chart has been developed for this situation. The cost of the birth will be covered in advance by the clinic.

Mothers who want an anonymous or confidential birth should contact the midwife on duty in the delivery room of the Villingen hospital directly. The child is looked after by foster parents. The decision not to provide any personal information can be reversed up to whatever point in time. Around 3 to 4 confidential births are cared for every year.

A woman who has had a child deserves the highest respect - even if she wants to remain unknown to her child afterwards!
