Pregnant – completely desperate, in a hopeless situation?

An unwanted pregnancy can plunge a woman into a state of extreme physical and emotional distress. Possibly alone and isolated, abused, raped, or fearing an honor killing, affected women can find anonymous and confidential professional help in any situation, to find a way out of their despair together.

In the Schwarzwald-Baar district, there are recognized pregnancy counseling centers that offer unbiased and non-denominational, anonymous counseling and work with pregnant women to develop solutions. The counseling sessions also focus on finding ways to live with the decision, whatever it may be.

The decisions can vary greatly. For example, a woman and her child can receive financial support during pregnancy, assistance from the municipal youth welfare office, mother-and-child homes, or the option of placing her child in foster care.

If a life with a child is inconceivable, there is the option of having the child go to
adoption to release.

As a possible solution, the Schwarzwald-Baar Clinic offers the option of
anonymous birth.

A woman also remains unpunished if she gives birth to her child in the
Baby hatch She places the child in her care. She still has the option to reverse her decision and acknowledge her child afterwards.

Even in this situation, affected women are welcome to contact the pregnancy counselling centers in the district.
